The Ancient Gods that Glitter n' Glow - Layla McNeil

Art Show

You Are Invited to Attend the Court of Ancient Gods and Goddesses

Come to court and behold a pantheon of ancient deities from across time, space and cultures. Witness the images of past gods and goddesses, such as Dagon Fish Man God from ancient Mesopotamia to the Greek God Atlas, re-imagined in modern glitter and glow in the dark pigment.  Stand before each glittering God and Goddess in light and darkness and wonder at the sparkle and glow.  Each painting is inspired by global ancient cultures and some that are honoured still today.  Each piece glitters with rhinestones presented on canvas with gifts of gold plastic coins at their feet. Behold each idol that glitters and glows in an immortal medium of remembering.

About the Artist

Layla has been working as a multi medium and immersive installation artist for decades and has honed the technique of working in glitter, and glow in the dark pigment.    Combined with a strong interest in ancient history, multi denominational spiritual practices and a childlike curiosity of modern shiny mediums a new theme grew. Taking inspiration from the ancient artefacts of long-gone deities a process of re-remembering emerges but with a modern powerfully shiny twist.
