To help the NSW wildlife victims, you can donate to the NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service (WIRES) here.

Port Macquarie Koala Hospital

More than 2000 koalas are feared to have perished in NSW since September.

The Port Macquarie Koala Hospital have raised more than $2 million for the wildlife affected in that area, with the initial aim of using the money to distribute automatic drinking stations in the burnt areas to help in koala and wildlife survival.

The organisation are now sharing the funds with other wildlife organisations in the fire affected regions across NSW. You can donate here.

Where can you donate?

For those with money to give, donations to the Salvation Army, the Australian Red Cross and state-based brigades like the NSW Rural Fire Service will go towards bushfire relief.

Red Cross acting chief executive officer Noel Clement said the organisation’s joint disaster donation drive with the ABC raised more than $10 million.

You can donate to support Red Cross’ disaster relief and recovery work here.

People overseas are also able to donate through the channel.

THE ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY – 4 STUDENTS FROM LENS SCHOOL Opening Tuesday 17th December 6pm

We have our end of year exhibition coming up, with all the work now at the framers. We have three classes filling Tap Gallery for a week. We hang on the 16th December, and are open from mid day to 6 pm every day until Sunday 22nd December. On Sunday afternoon I will be doing an artists talk at the gallery about the works and the techniques used in the exhibition between 2 & 4 pm.

Please join us for the opening between 6 pm and 8 pm on Tuesday 17th December. Tap Gallery Level 1/259 Riley St, Surry Hills.

The show is full of triptychs, each series of three is the favoUrite works for the year of each student. Something they would like to have on their own walls. Each artwork is framed and for sale at a very reasonable price of $245 per print. A3 prints in a 16 x 20 inch frame. Very reasonably priced and will make a great last minute Christmas gift. There will also be an assortment of beautiful greeting cards, and I will have some of my merchandise there too. Particularly my scarves, cushions and cards.

I am making a commitment to be there daily so that you can come and speak to me about Len’s School, what I teach, and anything photography for the whole week.

It will be a fabulous show. I have personally printed each photograph, and I can ensure you they are all stunning works. We have approximately 50 framed photographs on display in two different rooms.

PUT OUT THE FIRE – Debbie Nankervis opened Tuesday, 1 October 2019 from 18:00-20:00

Solo Exhibition by Debbie Nankervis

Join us for opening drinks Tuesday October 1st in The White Room for the hottest event this side of El Niño, celebrating the Golden Anniversary of Sister Cities Sydney and San Francisco.

As we begin the second half of the century of this liaison between the two cities, we are reminded of the relationship that exists between sisters that is forged over time, the sacrifices that are made, and the bonds that keep them working together as a team, despite distances that keep them apart.

The sisterhood was never more discernible than when the Suffragettes fought for women’s rights more than a hundred years ago. It is vital we acknowledge their achievements, and not let their hard work fall by the wayside into complacency and acceptance.

The images of fire hydrants in this exhibition represent strength of character from the ground up, working individually towards a common goal of safety, solidarity, and selfless service. Although visually different on both sides of the Pacific, they still value respect and equal rights.

It is important to remember the courage firefighters face and the risks they take to save lives and protect property.
