LAKSHMI BEE PRESENTS ‘INTO THE LIGHT’ Saturday 6th June 5-8pm

Welcome to Lakshmi Bee! We are a mother and daughter duo on a mission to help heal the planet and people through our sustainable creations and a purpose-driven lifestyle. We devote many hours and months infusing our designs with elegance, luxury and style inspired across multiple eras, building beauty from ashes in a celebration of God’s living creation as well as our own multicultural heritage.
Uniting eastern and western heritage, we are a multinational family of Australian, South Indian, British and Western European origins, with a generational history of fabric production, art, retail and real estate. Having a natural flair for the arts and entrepreneurship from early ages, we first combined our gifts by working together at home, creating custom clothing and art projects before going on to create pieces for school competitions, community programs and church productions. This then led us into gallery exhibitions, special events and runway shows.
Our work is a visual reflection of our dreams, mission and life’s purpose. Every detail holds importance, combining pre-existing items, fabric offcuts and remnants collected from different eras and sourced from around the world – bringing past, present and future together. These statement pieces share stories and illustrate the beauty that can be created from discarded parts pieced together – something truly amazing.
We want to share our love for the arts and personal development to inspire and encourage you to live an enriched life.
As global caretakers, we all have a shared responsibility to respect ourselves, our environment, the people around us, animals and living beings in which we share this planet. Re-thinking the way we live, what we do and what we wear, investing in quality pieces that last, while finding creative ways to reduce waste and re-use the items we already have at home are some of the many ways we can all help today, to prepare a better world for ourselves and the generations to come.

Join us on this journey in making a global difference and becoming the great people we were created to be.

REJECTS FROM THE ARCHIBALD WYNNE & SULMAN – The Real Refuses Artists’ Talk Saturday 30th May 4pm

Real Refuses Show 2026`

Real Refuses:  ARTISTS’ TALK

SATURDAY 30TH MAY @ 4 PM

Join us and the artists for an afternoon of Talks by the artists, pleasant company and conversations.

Thursday 21st May marked the 31st Anniversary of Australia’s largest Art “non” Event – Real Refuses -where artists not selected for the ARCHIBALD, WYNNE, SULMAN Art Prizes exhibit their work at TAP Gallery in Surry Hlls to win the popular “People’s Choice Award”, selected by the public on the night.

Real Refuses has become firmly established as part of the “Archibald Season”.

While it is an exhibition of rejected artwork, it is much more than that…

It is about giving a fair go to all the artists involved in Australia’s largest art events.

Not everyone can win an Archibald but here everyone can exhibit along side their peers. (You’ll find past winners of Australia’s biggest art prizes here as well!)

An extraordinary range of subjects have been shown, from musicians, actors, politicians including the NSW Premier, Mayor of Willoughby, Anthony Mundeen, Tony Abbott, Leo Sawyer, the then Prime Minister John Howard, Madame Lash, Elizabeth Cummings, Professor Bruce James Brew, and Jaiwei, (a winner of the Sulman.)
