Art Decorative Sculpts & Other Oddities – Martin Walsh

Martin traveled the world in his earlier years spending much time in London where he was part of the Yellow House group & contributed to OZ Magazine & featured on the Front Cover. He was best mates with Martin Sharp, Robert Hughes, Brett Whiteley, Jim Anderson and other Australian artists of that era. He was trained in picture framing at the Rowley Gallery Kensington London . This institution still operates today. Martin did the overland trail from Sydney to London 5 times and hitch hiked for 10 years. He spent time in Spain, France, Turkey, Afghanistan, Bangkok, Katmandu, Iran and South America. In Australia Martin studied at the respected Julian Ashton’s Art Academy, Martin is a collage artist & an illustrator of books. He has had regular exhibitions at TAP Gallery and has also sold many works in London & internationally.

On display will be 70 small art decoratives and 30 mixed media artworks, laminated & framed in electrical tape.

Jan Snowdon is often a protest artist having been involved in feminism, gay politics and ecology issues. She has also painted landscapes and life drawing. She has worked in the area of painting, printmaking and ceramics.

“A joint show with the legend of the Tap Gallery Surry hills, Lesley Dimmick, I shall be showing my heart filled work of the movement that I originated in London 8 years ago and is still running today. This was an amazing journey into the generosity of fine people who all donated their time and talents to bring about a charity to help folks suffering from mental health issues. All money raised is donated to MIND through our charity. I was the official photographer for all music and Art exhibitions for OutsiderArt London. I hope that the fine folks of Sydney town get something out of this special evening. Tap Gallery Surry hills on Wednesday 10th December from 6 until 9. Looking forward to seeing you all on the night.”
