ECCO HOMO - BRENDAN O'DOWD

b

"Ecce Homo" is a Latin phrase literally translated as "Behold the man", it is therefore exquisitely suitable as the name of this exhibition of male nudes and painting of homo erotic themes.
These themes cover studies celebrating the male body as muscular flesh down to painting of marble torsos in an un finished or broken state; As well as paintings of Grecian urns with fantasised red figure decoration of homosexual love.
The artist combines his love to the Greek and Roman culture with admiration to the male body. Together with his own experience of travelling around the world, he created this exhibition of desire.

ADAM MURPHY - FORECAST

adam murphy1

Adam Murphy is originally from the Blue Mountains, New South Wales  moving to Coogee, Sydney in his teens.
At the age of 15 he began his working life in traditional animation for the animation production studio, Walt Disney Animation Australia.  The youngest animator to be employed by Disney, starting the day after his last of high school, Adam stayed with Disney for over 17 years until the studio's closure in mid-2006.
It was during this time that Adam developed techniques in line, movement and weight that would stay with him, now applying these skills to this, his debut exhibition; his life drawings and small sketches of daily life drawing inspiration from the pencil works of Klimt, Schiele and Rodin.
