TAP GALLERY & WOMEN ON BOARDS PRESENTS

The INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY ART PRIZE & FESTIVAL

in conjunction with International Women’s Day 2012 from 6th – 14th March 2012

Opening night Tuesday 6th March 7pm at TAP Gallery

The  ”WOMEN ON BOARDS”  International Women’s Day Art Prize, running in conjunction with International Women’s Day for the past 3 years has had a impressive response from women artists.

The exhibition has an open theme allowing the artists to freely express themselves in all mediums & genres. Over 60 works including paintings, drawings, photography, video and even bronze sculptures from Denmark were on display for the public last year. At a gala presentation night Tuesday 6th March 6pm the first prize winning artist will be awarded $2,500 and the runner-up an encouragement award of $1000. Due the success of this exciting show it is now to be an annual event in its 3rd year.

Celebrating International Women’s Day with the launch the “Women on Boards Art Prize” TAP Gallery is featuring a week of women’s events. Other events showcasing at TAP Gallery during this week include Amnesty International Photography Show: “Women’s Eye on Peace“, a film night featuring the “Feminas Short Film Festival”  presented by WOW will be shown on the Thursday 11th at 6pm, and a poetry & songwriters night will be featured on Saturday 13th March at & 7.30pm. AND if you enjoy theatre, some powerful acting will be on show In the TAP theatre where “Hedda Gabler” directed by Liz Arday will be showing for 2 weeks. All of these events are open to the public and all are welcome.
